New York Times Travel Show provides adventurers' window to the world
More than 400 exhibitors were present at the New York Times Travel Show on February 26, an event designed to bring insiders' perspectives on scores of travel locations around the world.

The exhibit, which took place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and ran for three days, featured presentations by the likes of Arthur and Pauline Frommer, Rick Steves, National Geographic and Lonely Planet, Reuters reports. More than 24,000 onlookers attended the event, which was punctuated by live performances and other cultural exposes.

Even though the spotlight at the Travel Show was focused on a more worldly keel, New York City is a truly appropriate place to host such a convention, what with its status as the ultimate global melting-pot.

Couples planning a New York wedding won't miss this universal mystique as they tie the knot among onlookers that hail from every walk of life. And even if there's nothing more distinctly American than posing for pictures in Times Square with your wedding party or going out for a Nathan's hotdog once the formalities die down, these are shared experiences that transcend all boundaries.
