Hawaii has long been a popular destination among honeymooners, but new data backs up the claim that the islands are a prime vacation spot for couples. A recent survey found that Hawaii is number two on a long list of preferred honeymoon destinations, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
With miles of white sandy beaches, some would say that the state has widely earned the honor. Approximately 12,000 newlyweds who tied the knot in 2010 participated in the survey, which gave the Hawaii tourism bureau something to cheer about.
Honolulu is one of the most popular destinations to visit while exploring all that Hawaii has to offer. Not only is it along the coastline of the state, but it has a number of boutiques and restaurants for visitors looking to indulge in the local culture.
Hanauma Bay is also a short drive from Hawaii, providing some of the most spectacular views of Oahu. Visitors can snorkel alongside exotic fishes and sea turtles at this nature preserve, which is open to the public throughout the summer months. The experience is not only memorable, but unique to even the most seasoned travelers.
