One woman in the United Kingdom has exchanged vows with her husband for a second time after her brave battle with thyroid cancer.
Penny and Mark Bennett held their wedding in England this weekend in front of friends and family. After Penny's arduous medical procedures, including two operations and three radiotherapy sessions, Mark decided he wanted to renews their vows, according to Wirral News.
"We were shopping in Liscard two weeks after my hysterectomy and we went past a wedding shop. Mark saw a dress and said to me 'You'd look lovely in that, let's do it again," the second-time bride told the news source. "We've been together for 20 years and married for 18 and we always said we'd have a big white wedding."
It was an emotional ceremony in England for all in attendance, as friends and family have watched Penny endure the effects of her cancer for the last five years.
Vow renewals are a great idea for couples who have been together for quite some time. Many husbands and wives opt to hold a ceremony and reception to commemorate the event and celebrate with loved ones. England has many settings to offer for the special occasion, whether couples are looking for a historical, modern or natural setting.
