More than 35 restaurants throughout Jamaica will participate in the island's sixth annual Restaurant Week in November, offering visitors a chance to sample culinary specialties from some of the Caribbean's best chefs.
During the week-long event from November 13 to November 20, restaurants will prepare three-course dinner menus for a reduced fixed price in the following categories: Tasty, Savory, High Rollers, Delectable and Epicurean.
For travelers on a Jamaica vacation, the culinary experience provides an opportunity to try the island's lively cuisine as well as international fare at restaurants in Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.
The variety of Restaurant Week reflects the diversity of landscapes that await visitors to this Caribbean island that goes beyond its beautiful white sand beaches.
Travelers can walk the narrow streets of quaint Port Antonio, a historic harbor town that boasts a Neo-Romanesque stone parish church that dates back to 1840 and Fort George, which was built in the Spanish-settled area in 1729.
In northeastern Jamaica, the Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park has 200,000 acres of tropical rain forest that include steep mountain slopes of more than 3,000 feet of shale and limestone waiting to be explored.
