Puerto Rico wants to jump into the honeymoon market.
Many people choose Puerto Rico as a honeymoon destination while exploring their options in the Caribbean, and the tourism bureau is currently working to keep it this way, according to FOX News Latino.

Mario Gonzalez, the director of the Puerto Rican Tourism Company, recently said that 7 percent of honeymooners typically choose the country as their destination. More than 30 percent of newlyweds pick the Caribbean as their vacation spot, and Puerto Rico now wants a larger share of the honeymoon market.

Puerto Rican officials may be right to want to join in the industry, judging by the country's abundance of attractions and historical locations. San Juan, Puerto Rico's capital, is home to several venues worth visiting.

The San Juan Bay is a favorite among tourists who are looking to indulge in the local culture by the sea. A number of restaurants are located along the bay as well, offering some of Puerto Rico's best authentic cuisine.

The Catedral de San Juan is another location that is popular among couples looking to view Puerto Rican architecture. The structure, originally built in 1540, is widely considered to be a "must-see" attraction.
